What does the virtue of hope do?
The virtue of hope is infused at baptism. It gives us the power to trust in gods promise of salvation.
What is Purgatory?
Purgatory is a place of cleasing of sin. It is the place of final purification after death.
What is the universal call to holiness?
The universal call to holiness is that each person has their own call to a life of holiness. This is regardless of their state in life.
What does the call from Jesus begin with?
Jesus calls each and every one of us. This call begins with repentance.
What does it mean to be a disciple?
To be a disciple means o take on the teachers way of life. We can do this by imitating Jesus.
What are the precepts of the Church?
The precepts of the Church are mass, confession, Easter, Fast and tithe. We are required to attend mass on sundays and holy days, go to confession at least once a year, and receive the Eucharist at Easter. We are also required to observe all days of fast and abstinence, as well as provide for the needs of the church.
What is the diffference between the sanctifying grace and actual grace?
We get sanctifying grace from the sacraments. We get actual grace from God in every moment to chose good and avoid evil.
What are the two types of judgement?
The first type of judgement is particular, which is each persons individual judgement at the moment of his or her death. The second type of judgement is final, which is the judegemnt of all people at the end of time.
What is hell?
Hell is a place where those who die in a state of mortal sin are separted from god for all eternity. Once in hell, the souls have no hope of salvation.
What is the difference between objective and subjective redemption?
Objective redemption is Jesus’s act of redemption for all people. Subjective redemption is our free response to his act.
What are the Beatitudes?
The Beatitudes represent the highest level of the moral life. The beatitudes lived out are the perfect imitation of the life of Jesus.
What is the purpose of memento mori?
The purpose of memento mori is to remind us that life has an end. It is a reminder that we have an eternal destiny in heaven.
What is natural law?
Natural law is law that is written in every human heart. We are all bound to it but it can be distorted by sin.
Why is love the root of holiness?
Love is the root of holiness because to be holy is to love like God does. The virtue if love helps us to love one another as Christ loves us.
