Why are good listening skills equally important as verbal communication skills?

A

Because good communication is a two way street. Good listening involves the ability to give full attention to the speaker. When you focus on a the speaker you can respond to what has been said rather than making a quick switch to the next item on your mental list.

A

What is validation of communication?

A

Its a response that shows you understood the instructions that were given. For example, if you are given an instruction you should respond with the elements that are essential to the duty that was appointed to you.

Example:

radilogist: Give Mrs. Johnson 50mL of Isovue 300 and take thefirst image at 60 seconds

Radiographer: Mrs johnson gets 50mL of Isovue 300 and ill take the first image at 60 seconds
