Chapter 6 Elbow and Radioulner Joint Flashcards
Biceps Brachii long head O&I
origin: supraglenoid tubercle above the superior lip of the glenoid fossa
insertion: tuberosity of the radius and bicipital aponeurosis (lacerates fibrosis)
Biceps Brachii long head action
supination, flexion, weak flexion of should, weak abduction or shoulder
Biceps Brachii long head innervation
musculocutaneous nerve (C5, C6)
Biceps Brachii short head O&I
origin: coracoid process of the scapula and upper lip of the glenoid fossa in conjunction with the proximal attachment of the coracobrachialis
insertion: tuberosity of the radius and bicipital aponeurosis (lacerates fibrosis)
Bicaps Brachii short head action
supination, flexion, weak flexion of shoulder, weak abduction of the shoulder
Bicapes Brachii short head innervation
musculocutaneous nerve (C5, C6)
Brachialis O&I
origin: distal half of the anterior shaft of the humerus
insertion: coronoid process of ulna
Brachialis action
flexion of the elbow
Brachialis innervation
musculocutaneous nerve (C5, C6)
Brachioradialis O&I
origin: distal 2/3 of the lateral condyloid (supracondylar) ridge of the humerus
insertion: lateral surface of the distal end of the radius at the styloid process
Brachioradialis action
flexion, pronation from supination to neutral, supination from pronation to nuetral
Brachioradialis innervation
radial nerve (C5, C6)
Pronator Teres O&I
origin: distal part of the medial condyloid ridge of humerus and the medial side of proximal ulna
insertion: middle 1/3 of the lateral surface of the radius
Pronator Teres action
pronation of the forearm, weak flexion of the elbow
Pronator Teres innervation
median nerve (C6, C7)
