Q

Procedure format

A

1) Title, Purpose or principle, 2) specimen collection and preparation, 3) reagents, supplies, and equipment, 4) Quality control, 5) Procedural steps, 6) Reporting results, 7) Procedural notes - sources of error, limitations, clinical applications, 8) References

Q

Limits of detection

A

a measure of analytic sensitivity. The lowest concentration of analyte that can be detected in 95% of repeat measurements. Higher LoD misses more infected patients.

16
Q

Predictive value- pos

A

Positive indicates the number of patients with an abnormal test result who have the disease compared to all patients with an abnormal result

17
Q

Predictive value- neg

A

Negative PV indicates the number of patients with a normal test result who do not have the disease compared with all patients who have a normal result.
