Describe collision theory

A

For a reaction to occur, particles need to collide with enough energy to break bonds. To increase the number of succesful collisions, we can

  • Increase temperature (more kinetic energy in each collision and more frequent collisions)
  • Increase concentrations (more particles in given volume, so more frequent collisions)
