Physical properties of arenes

A
  • colourless liquid at room temperature,
  • has a higher boiling point than hexane due to benzene’s flat, hexagonal molecules which can pack together well so they are harder to seperate.
  • Do not mix with water, but mixed with other hydrocarbons and non-polar solvents
