State the different stages of lifespan development.
In age grouping
0-2 years. 2-10 years. 10-20 years. 20-40 years. 40-65 years. 65+
Define continuous development.
Development involving:
Gradual ongoing change.
Without sudden shifts.
Define discontinuous development.
Development involving:
Distinct and separate stage like steps.
Different kinds of abilities occurring at each stage.
Define quantitive changes.
Give an example.
Variations in the quantity, or amount of a thought, feeling or behaviour.
For example:
The number of words spoken in relation to age.
Define qualitative changes.
Give an example.
Changes that make the individual different from the way before, Those that vary in quality, kind or type.
For example:
At four years you had less understanding of the concept honesty, whereas now you can understand these concepts.
