What does salutary neglect mean?
Not strictly enforcing most laws
What three things lead to individualism being strong in the colonies?
GB treated colonies with salutary neglect, colonies basically made their own laws/acted independently, land cheaper than in Europe and more landowners in colonies than England
Why did England place a number of taxes (acts) against the colonists?
To help pay off war debts

How was the Sugar Act supposed to stop smuggling?
It lowered taxes on molasses and allowed British officers to seize goods from smugglers without going to court
