hadith 1
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ‘Religion is Sincerity. We said, ‘To whom?’ The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ‘To Allah, His book, His Messenger, the leaders of the Muslims and to their common people.’ (Muslim)

Allah does not have to look at outward appearances but whats in your heart
whatever Muslims do should be for the sake of Allah

Hadith 2
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ‘ None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself’ (Bukhari & Muslim)

All Muslims are a family of brothers and sisters
vital that Muslims treat each other with love and respect
hadith teaches against jealousy and selfishness - individual conduct
be kind to others and don’t be selfish
good character benefits in the dunya and akirah. - life in the community
ummah is a single body
everyone must take care and look after each other
Muslims should never be a means of harms, hardship and difficulty for each other
Hadith 3
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ‘ Let him who believes in Allah and the last day, either speak good or remain silent, and let him who believes in Allah and the last Day be generous to his neighbour and let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his guest’ (Bukhari & Muslim)

Allah makes it a condition of faith to be good to others in words and actions - individual conduct
when we are good at creation, the creator is pleased with us
someone who wants to develop their faith needs to serve people - life in the community
teaches Muslims to always be good to guests
protect society from division and encourage harmony
Hadith 4
A man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), ‘Do you think that if I perform all the obligatory prayers, fast in Ramadhan, treat as lawful that which is lawful and treat as forbidden that which is forbidden and do nothing further, will I enter Paradise, The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ‘Yes’ (Muslim)

obligations of Islam are a condition on entering jannah
teaches about the authority of the prophet
only completing the 3 pillars is nessecary
no need to overburden self
zakat and hajj not mentioned because only people who are capable do it - individual conduct
stresses the importance of individual worship and how to treat Allah’s love
it clarifies that the ways needed to be successful in our objective - life in the community
everyone does halal and doesn’t do haram benefits other people
Hadith 5
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ‘Every person’s every joint must perform a charity every day the sun comes up: to act justly between two people is a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting up his belongings onto it is a charity; every step you take to prayers is a charity, and removing a harmful thing from the road is a charity.’ (Muslim)

every act of kindness is charity
Islam teaches and encourages goodness to everyone
shows worship isn’t limited to a personal matter but how we treat Allah creation - individual conduct
must acknowledge and be grateful for what Allah has given us
Muslims must show kindness to people for what Allah has given us and in anyway possible
Muslims should act justly between people - life in the community
Muslims must take care and be kind to everyone
promotes the concept of ummah being a single body
these actions ensure that the needy and vulnerable are not side lined or ignored
Hadith 6
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ‘Whosoever of you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand, and if he is not able to do so then with his tongue, and if he is not able to do so then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith.’

stop evil - individual conduct
encourages muslims to promote good and forbid evil
teaches muslims to be moral actively. eg defending people - life in the community
protect society from evil using ones capacity
shows a social responsibility to promoting and upholding justice
Hadith 7
It was said: O Messenger of Allah, who is the most excellent of people? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘The believer who strives hard in the way of Allah with his person and his property.’

stresses upon the significance of jihad
jihad constitutes an important part islam
launches to put an end to oppression, aggression and injustice - individual conduct
Teaches Muslims to use and sacrifice their comforts for Allah’s sake to promote and protect Islam. - life in the community
It teaches that everyone in a society must be protected and defended.
Shows that society has an obligation to defend and protect people and values.
Hadith 8
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘Whom do you count to be a martyr among you?’ They said: O Messenger of Allah, whoever is killed in the way of Allah is a martyr. He said: ‘In that case, the martyrs of my community will be very few! He who is killed in the way of Allah is a martyr, he who dies a natural death in the way of Allah is a martyr, he who dies in the plague in the way of Allah is a martyr, he who dies of stomach [illness) in the way of Allah is a martyr.’

Hadith 9
No one eats better food than that which he eats out of the work of his hand

shows the importance of independence and people working hard on oneself
making effort to achieve something rather than getting it - individual conduct
encourages muslims to work hard and earn a halal living
prohibits begging fro the sake of it eg stealing, bribing and cheating - life in the community
encourages everyone to work hard and earn a living
develops society to be independent and proggesive
Hadith 10
One who manages the affairs of the widow and the poor man is like the one who exerts himself/engages in jihad in the way of Allah, or the one who stands for prayer in the night or fasts in the day.

helping vulnerable or poor people is like fullfilling the greatest actions of islam - individual conduct
muslims must take care of other people in the same regard they do for worship
strengthens relationship with allah as he loves thoes who care for his creation - life in the community
the needs of people are not neglected while people are thinking they are engaged in worship
protects other people from being left in need
Hadith 11
I and the man who brings up an orphan will be in paradise like this.’ And he pointed with his two fingers, the index and the middle finger.

it promises that the welfare of the downtrodden and the unprivileged class helps believers enter Paradise, in the company of the prophets. - individual conduct

Hadith 12
The Messenger of Allah sent Abu Musa and Mu’adh ibn Jabal to Yeman, and he sent each of them to govern a part. Then he said: ‘Make things easy and do not make them harsh, and cause happiness and do not alienate.’

muslims have to be comforting and accomodating - individual conduct
be kind to everyone
treat others how you want to be treated
don’t judge discriminate etc - life in the community

should make things easier; education healthcare etc

Hadith 13
He who studies the Qur’an is like the owner of tethered camels. If he attends to them he will keep hold of them, but if he lets them loose they will go away

to have a strong attachment with the holy quran - individual conduct
recitation of the holy quran is a source of abundant blessings
muslims should hold great attachment and love - life in the community
every muslim is to frequently recite the holy quran so that the memorized portions are not lost from memory

Hadith 14
May God show mercy to a man who is kind when he sells, when he buys, and when he demands his money back.

to adopt an attitude of mildness and forbearance in business dealings - individual conduct
being kind and not selfish in business transactions
encourages halal earing when no one is abused - life in the community
set appropriate business rules
be open and honest about trade
Hadith 15
Allah will not show mercy to the one who does not show mercy to others.

to be merciful and kind
most deserving people of Allah’s mercy are kind hearted people - individual conduct
treat others how you want to be treated
be kind and generous to everyone - life in the community
should not let oppression and harshness go unnoticed
everyone must make sure that people are cared for
