- Married the Prophet in the 10th
year of Prophethood and Allah
revealed this marriage. - She moved in with the Prophet

the Sahaba. - The Sahaba would come to her for
answers and guidance. - She was most knowledgeable
about the Quran, halal/haram,
poetry, medicine and history - She often voluntarily fasted and bought 67
slaves and freed them. - She battles with the Prophet and
served the soldiers who were
wounded - She also attended the Farewell Hajj
- The verses of Tayamamum were
revealed due to her losing her
necklace. - She narrated 2210 Hadith and
passed away on 17th Ramadan
58AH. - She is buried in al-Baqi
- Very generous and had a high
character and knowledgeable

- She was the youngest daughter
and living child of the Prophet - the only one who was alive when
the Prophet passed away. - She was born five years before the
announcement of Prophethood - She was married to Sayiduna Ali
and was the mother of Imams
Hasan, Imam Hussain, Lady Zaynab
and Lady Umm Kulthum. - She resembled the Prophet in
looks and character. - She was very modest and
generous. - She cared and defended the
Prophet after her mother’s passing
away and when the Quraysh
intensified their persecution - Lady Fatimah is the leader of the
women of Jannah, one of the four
most virtuous women and role
model for all women - Example of submission, love,
loyalty, service and sacrifice - She was the first person pass away
after the Prophet six months after
him. - Buried in al-Baqi

Hasan and Imam Hussain

(descendant of the prophet)

- Born on 3rd Sha’ban 4AH
Second child of Sayidatuna Fatimah
and Sayiduna Ali - The Prophet recited the adhan in
his ear, performed Tahnik and
named him - Spent his infancy and childhood
with the Prophet and he resembled
the Prophet in appearance. - intelligent, generous and
courageous. - known for his kindness and
hospitality. - Learned, understood and applied
the Quran and Sunnah to his life - After Sayiduna Muawiyya passed
away in 60AH, his son Yazeed took
over the leadership. - However, he was an evil and
immoral person who didn’t care
about Islam. - He wanted Imam Hussain to
submit to him so he can be even
more powerful but Imam Hussain
refused and said that he cant
accept an immoral person as a
ruler of the Muslims - Imam Hussain left Madinah to
avoid any conflict there and went
to Makkah. - People called him to Iraq so he
went - When he reached there he was
betrayed and was eventually killed. - Imam Hussain’s martyrdom stands
as an example for all Muslims that
we must stand for what we believe
in and not let anyone defame or
misrepresent Islam. - To be free, we must stand for what
we believe. Imam Hussain’s legacy
stands to this day.

- Born about three years after the
Prophet in Makkah to a respected
tribe. - His birth name was Abdul Kaba and
later re named Abdullah – but he is
known as Abu Bakr (leader of young
camels) due to his expertise in
rearing young camels. - His family was wealthy and well
known. - Abu Bakr became known for his
trade in cloth and his upright
character - He was the first male to accept
Islam and without any hesitation. - He was the closest and most loyal
companion and friend of the
Prophet - He is known as ‘Siddique’ for
affirming the truth about the
Prophet’s journey to Miraj - He was the first to preach Islam (first beaten up for being Muslim).
He purchased many slaves and
freed them. - Many of the earliest and most
famous companions accepted Islam
through his efforts. - spent all of his wealth on Islam
and migrated with Prophet, he
stayed in cave Thawr for three days - very pious, generous and
hard working for Islam. - source of comfort and support for
the Prophet and all Muslims. - He gave all of his wealth again at
Tabuk; and was almost like the
‘shadow’ of the Prophet - He lead the Hajj and about 17
prayers in the lifetime of the
Prophet - He took part in the rituals after the
passing of our Prophet

- first cousin of the Prophet
- born in 598 in Makkahwas raised by
the Prophet. - very brave, courageous; didn’t take
part in idol worship, alcohol or
adultery. - accepted Islam at 10 years old.
- learned lots of knowledge, wisdom
and skills from the Prophet - exceptional in the art of fighting.
- The Prophet called him the ‘door of
knowledge’. - He was a scholar of Quran, Hadith,
Fiqh and many sciences amongst
the Sahaba. - well versed and just, generous and
supported many people - married to the daughter of the
Prophet and dedicated his life for
Islam. - risked his life on many occasions;
most notably on the night of Hijrah.
