- teaches importance of knowledge as all knowledge and understanding from allah
- It tells Muslims that Allah is in control and only He can affect them so we don’t worry about people/circumstances
- Verse is recited for protection
Verse 2
Surah Al - An’aam
6:101-103
Themes
* allah is the first and the originator
* allah is one has no sons or companions
* allah is ‘hidden’ but nothing is hidden from him
Importance
* gives a description of allah
* inspires to do good and avoid bad as allah is aware of everything
* Gives confidence, trust and strong faith that Allah is the creator

Surah Fussilat
41:37
Themes
* Sun and Moon/ Day and Night- these are incredible/pivotle systems of nature.
* Therefore, we only worship/prostate to Allah, not anything or anyone
* cause of our existence
* And these are signs/creation of Allah.
* remind us of His power and creation.
Importance
* It reminds Muslims of Allah’s power and greatness- He created the sun/moon and day/night
* Reminds us that we only worship/prostrate to Allah- no one and nothing else!
* Gives us comfort and encouragement of how great Allah is
Verse 4
Surah Ash Shura
42:4-5
Theme
* Dominion of Allah- Allah own everything in the heavens and the earth
* shows allahs power
* Allah has placed Angels to glorify Him and seek forgiveness for human error – thus helping us
Importance
* Shows Allah’s mercy and forgiveness
* Shows that Allah doesn’t need us to worship Him – it is a privilege/honour for us
* Reminds to be humble
* Inspires us as Angels are also worshipping Allah

Surah Al - Iklas
112:1-4
Theme
* Allah is unique/Oneness (Tawheed)
* Allah’s powerful and the greatest
* No beginning nor end
Importance
* Defines Allah for Muslims
* Gives us strength and trust that Allah is with us
* It is recited regularly to remind us of Allah and His attributes
* Shows none is like Allah and nothing is impossible for Allah to do

Surah Al - Fatiha

Themes
* Only Allah is worthy of praise because He is the Originator of everything
* Allah is the Lord, this means Allah is the Creator and Sustainer of EVERYTHING
* Allah has control of everything
Importance
* This surah fulfils our obligation in thanking Allah as that is reason why we were created
* Reminds us that Allah is in control,
* He creates and Sustains, and everything
* It reminds us that we only worship Allah
Verse 7
Surah Al - Baqara
2:21-22
Themes
* Allah is addressing mankind for the first time in the Quran
* He is informing us of our purpose of existence and reminds us that He created all those before
* This verse is informing us that we must be righteous
* Ultimately, this verse is instructing us to worship Allah
Importance
* It reminds us of our purpose – to worship Allah to become righteous
* It allows us to appreciate and be grateful for Allah’s bounties.
* Reminds us to avoid Shirks and reminds us that humans can only do anything with what Allah has given.

Surah Alaq
96:1-5
Themes
* Everything is for Allah’s sake and for reaching His pleasure
* Shows the origin of mankind and His power in Creation
* Generosity and power of Allah that He creates us from filth and yet honours us with the greatest gift – Knowledge!
Importance
* We are connected with Allah through the Quran
* Shows us the greatness and uniqueness of Allah in His creation.
* Reminds us that all knowledge is from Allah
Verse 9
Surah Zilzal
99:1-8
Themes
* Describes our return Allah
* Demonstrates the Doj and shows its reality and seriousness
* It tell us that people will be sorted into groups based on their actions, good or bad.
Importance
* It very strongly gives us the realisation of the reality of the DoJ.
* It shows us that Allah communicates with His creation
* We are encouraged to ‘see’ Allah through His creation

Surah Naas
114:1-6
Themes
* Protection from Allah and how we seek it.
* Allah is informing us how we are attacked by evil- evil thoughts
* Shows Allah’s mercy with His creation
Importance
* Allah in His kindness is telling us that Shaytan will attack us in many forms
* must seek protection from allah
* When we have evil thoughts, we should recite this Surah
Verse 11
Surah Baqrah
2:30-37
Themes
* Allah sending Mankind a Khalifa
* Angels knew that humans will cause mischief
* Yet, Allah honoured humans with free will- Allah wants us to make a choice-
* Adam forgot and ate from the tree- this led to him coming on the earth which started our journey
Importance
* Shows us that Allah honoured Prophets (and us) with knowledge and authority
* Arrogance leads to one’s own destruction and also Allah’s displeasure
* Not protest unnecessarily – like Iblees.
Verse 12
Surah An’aam
6:75-79

* Shows how Ibraheem stood firm on the Truth, despite most of his people disbelieving
* Prophets stood against Shirk
* The main mission of a Prophet is to guide people to Allah and help them understand- Tawhid
Importance
* Encourages Muslims to reflect on Allah’s creation to help us understand/appreciate Allah’s power and authority
* Describes to us how the Prophets are role models
* Reminds us to always fully submit to Allah

Surah Maidah
5:110
Themes
* Prophets are supported, guided, educated, protected by Allah
* Tells us Isa is the son of Mayram and not the son of Allah!
* Prophets are given various miracles to convince people
Importance
* Tells us the truth about Isa (not son of God)
* Tells us Prophets are supported, guided, educated, protected by Allah and given authority by Allah
* Shows the power Allah gave to His Prophets
Verse 14
Surah Duha
93:1-11
Themes
* Shows Allah’s love/defence for the Prophet
* Shows some of the greatest gifts given to our Prophet
* Shows us that Allah takes care of orphans/seekers/poor
Importance
* Tells us we must love and defend our Prophet
* Inspires love and loyalty to the Prophet
* Tells us we must care for people. Esp. orphans/seekers/poor and not be harsh or turn them away
Verse 15
Surah Kawthar
108:1-3
Themes
* Shows Allah’s love/defence for the Prophet
* Worship Allah and make sacrifices for His sake
* Insulters are cut off – meaning they are losers in dunya and akhirah
Importance
* Tells us we must love and defend our Prophet
* Inspires us to love and honour our Prophet
* Shows we must be firm in our prayers and sacrifices
* Assures us that no one will get away from Allah’s justice if they disrespect/insult the Prophet (peace be upon him)
