Chapter 43 Flashcards
Have you previously thought of doing the actions you do each day “in Christ” (see Phil. 4:13) ? If you thought of doing the reading that you are presently doing “in Christ”, how would it change your attitude or perspective? What difference would it make to think of doing your daily work “in Christ”? What about carrying conversations with friends and family members? Or eating, or even sleeping?
Philippians 4:13 states, “I can do all things through Him whom strengthens me.” That tells us that no matter what we are doing, God will give us the strength to do it, even if we don’t feel capable. Thinking about this while I carry out my everyday tasks will make them seem less daunting and easier to approach. It would make me think about whether the foods I am eating or the conversations I am having are glorifying God.
How can the idea of union with Christ increase your love and fellowship for other Christians, both those in your church and those in other churches?
If we are in Christ, and Christ is in us then that means that we are like all Christians because we all have Christ inside of us. Therefore we should want to fellowship and love on all our Christian brothers and sisters because we all have Christ inside of us, no matter what church we attend.
Do you have any awareness in your day to day life of Christ living in you (Gal. 2:20)? What would change in your life if you had a stronger awareness of Christ living in you throughout the day?
I try to focus on the fact the Christ is alive in me. When I do focus on that, I am able to accomplish things and love on people in a way that I know is only possible because I have Christ inside of me.
