This ended the French’s imperial ambitions in North America. The French flag lowered soon after in New Orleans and the U.S. raised their flag. When they secured the territory, England and Mexico finally gave up claims.

The British fired killing 3 and wounding 18. Americans ended up surrendered and were boarded. They found 4 Royal Navy deserters and took them off, one was British and the other 3 were U.S. citizens . They hung them for desertion.
