that explains the need, outlines the alternatives and makes a recommendation. A business case is a report that presents the rationale for making a decision about
expenditure by providing evidence of the need, the net benefit of each possible solution and a recommended course of action. A good business case demonstrates to the decision-maker that the project will provide a net benefit. It is not enough to demonstrate a benefit; the project should provide a benefit that is greater than the cost.
