Chapter 4 Congrunet Polygons Flashcards
Exterior Angle Theorem
The measure of an exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the measures of the two non adjacent interior angles
Third angles theorem
If two angles of one triangle are congruent to two angles of another triangle then the third angles are also congruent
Side-side-side congruence postulate
If three sides of one triangle are congruent to three sides of a second triangle, the triangles are congruent
Definition of congruent polygons
If corresponding parts are congruent, than the polygons are congruent
CPCTC
Corresponding parts of congruent triangles/polygons are congruent
Side angle side (SAS) congruence postulate
If two sides and the included angle of two triangles are congruent, then the triangles are congruent
Hypotenuse leg congruence theorem, (HL)
If the hypotenuse and legs of two right triangles are congruent, then the triangles are congruent
Angle side angle congruence postulate
If two angles and the included side of two triangles are congruent, then the triangles are congruent
Angle angle side congruence theorem
If two angles and a non included side of two triangles are congruent, then the triangles are congruent
Base angles theorem
If two sides of a triangle are congruent my the angles opposite them are congruent
Converse to the Base Angles Theorem
If two angles of a triangle are congruent then the sides opposite them are congruent
Equiangular and equilateral triangle theorem
If a triangle in equiangular, then it is equilateral
If a triangle is equilateral, then it is equiangular
