Area at high elevation, flat area ringed with mountains. Dry, poor agriculture.

A very heavy rainfall that accounts for most of the annual rainfall of India. Occurs during a specific time of the year.

What were the two main cities of the Indus Valley civilization?
Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro

Who were the Aryans?
Nomadic white people who entered India through the Khyber Pass. They were herders.
What were the Vedas books?
Recorded history of the Vedas age. Used to be oral but was later written down. Contains stories explaining main gods and concepts. Created the basic philosophy of Hinduism. Were usually prayers and hymns to the gods.
What did the Aryans do?
Were originally farmers and herders, but later conquered the northern plain (Indo-Gangetic)
What is Reincarnation?
Rebirth into a new life
What is Sanskrit?
Written language of the ancient Indians. Has common origins with Ancient Greek and Latin
What is a Brahmin?
a priest
What was the Epic Age?
Time that we know about because of books called epics. Rajahs fought for superiority.
What were the Upanishads?
Complex philosophical explanations of the Vedic religion
What were epics?
Long poems describing heroes and great events
What was the Bhagavad Gita?
chapters that stressed the idea that one should conduct themselves properly according to their status in life.
What happened between the Vedic and the Epic Age?
There was a shift in beliefs

No, since all gods are just different forms of the same entity
