Stagnation of growth in which difficulties seem too immense to be overcome

What do we mean with ‘‘Final goal’’
- People strive toward a final goal of either personal superiority or the goal of success for all humankind.
- Set by the time children reach 4 or 5 years of age
What do we mean with ‘‘compensation’’?
We strive to overcome or short-comings, inferiorities of one sort or another
Personal superiority
- Goals are personal and no interest of others
- May be in the form of social interest but motivated by overcompensation
