-a group of people who coexist within the mainstream society, yet remain connected to one another through a common cultural heritage (native American, African American)

- Personality
- Internal dimensions (race, age, gender, sexual orientation, cultural dimension, mental ability, physical ability, ethnicity)
- External dimensions- political orientation, income, geographic location, personal habits, rec habits, religion, work experience, educational background, appearance, family status, marital status

Ethnocentrism
Ethnocentrism- a belief that your culture is superior to other cultures
Stereotyping
Stereotyping- generalization about a group of people that oversimplify their characteristics
Prejudice
Prejudice- negative attitudes and beliefs about others based on faulty or inflexible beliefs
Discrimination
-Discrimination- actions that exclude certain people from opportunities granted to others
Myers- Briggs personality types
Extrovert-talks first then thinks
- Introvert- reserved and private
- Sensor- practical and realistic
- Intuitive- theoretical
- Thinker-objective and fair
- Feeler-tenderhearted and tactful
- Perceiver-goes with the flow
- Judger- well organized
