What does groove Quantize allow you to do?
Adjust locations, velocities, and durations of MIDI note according to a groove template.
What happens if you choose a selection that is longer than the groove template?
The template will be looped as needed.
How do you apply a groove template to a midi performance?
- Select the MIDI clips
- EVENT > EVENT OPERATIONS > QUANTIZE
- Select a groove template from the pop up menu
- Select the desired settings
- Click Apply
What does the Restore Performance page of the Event operations window do?
Allows you to remove the effects of Quantize, Change Duration, Change velocity, or transpose commands.
What is flatten performance?
The Flatten Performance command gives a new ‘restore to’ state for specified note attributes.
How do you flatten a midi performance?
EVENT > MIDI > FLATTEN PERFORMANCE
How to use the Change velocity command?
EVENT > EVENT OPERATIONS > CHANGE VELOCITY
Where can you set Track Based real time properties?
In the real time properties views on the track or Real Time properties floating window.
Which clips will ignore track based settings?
Clips with clip based properties.
How do you know if a clip has track based properties or clip based properties applied?
A T or R will display in the top right corner of the clip, respectively.
How do you apply MIDI real time properties to a clip?
- Select the clip
- EVENT > MIDI REAL TIME PROPERTIES
What does Write to Tracks and Write to Clips in the MIDI real time properties window do?
Writes the changes into the MIDI notes and clears the real time properties window.
How do you transpose notes chromatically (one semitone)?
Select the notes and press the down/ up arrow.
How do you transpose notes diatonically (in key)?
Make sure correct key signature is designated on the key signature ruler.
