  1. Stick to antigens on pathogens to destroy them

How do vaccines work?

A
  1. Injects dead or weakened (inactive) pathogens into body
  2. White blood cells produce antibodies to fight pathogen
  3. White blood cells remember the pathogen and antibodies needed to fight it
  4. When/if re-infected there is a rapid response and the antibodies fight the re-infection faster than you feel the symptoms
