  1. Age (men over 45 / women over 55).
  2. Family History - heart problems prior to 55
  3. High Blood Pressure - Greater or equal to 140/90
  4. Diabetes - the bodies inability to use insulin for sugar metabolism is impaired and unable to utilize sugar properly to sustain muscle function.
  5. Cholesterol Level - 200 or greater
  6. Obesity - BMI is 30% or higher.

What are the 3 Risk Stratifications

A
  1. Apparently Healthy (AH) -

Individuals who are asymptomatic and apparently healthy with no more than one major coronary risk factor

  1. Increased Risk (IR) -

Individuals who have signs or symptoms suggestive of possible cardiopul- monary or metabolic disease and/or two or more major coronary risk factors

  1. Known Disease (KD) -

Individuals with known cardiac, pulmonary, or metabolic disease.
