What does saliva do?
It moistens the food and starts the digestive process.

What is chyme?
A semi-solid mixture of practically digested food,saliva,digestive enzyme, and fluids in the stomach.

What does anorexia mean ?
Loss or decrease of appetite
What does dysphasia mean?
Painful eating or swallowing
What is gastritis?
Acute inflammation of the stomach
What does GERD stand for and what is it?
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.
It is chronic inflammation and irritation due to reflux of stomach acid backed into the esophagus.
What does N&V stand for?
Nausea and vomiting
Define fecalith?
Hardened feces that become a stone like mass.
What is constipation?
Failure to have regular, soft bowel movements.
What is diarrhea?
Abnormally frequent, loose, and sometimes watery feces.
