incomplete dominance
in which the hybrid does not resemble either pure breeding parent. example red flower and white flower produce pink flower
codominant
expression in heterozygous genotype resulting in hybrid offspring that resemble both parents equally for a particular trait
epistasis
describes an allele of one gene that masks the effects of one or more alleles of another gene
dominant epistasis
when the dominant allele of one gene hides the effects of another gene
recessive epistasis
when the recessive allele of one gene hides the effects of another gene
autosomal dominate
when there is usually one affected parent (on a pedigree chart)
autosomal recessive
usually has unaffected parents but each are carriers and can pass down to offspring (on a pedigree chart)
