What does a school Administration system allow the user to do?
Hold records, record pupils Marks and monitor attendance

What does online banking allow the user to do?
Transfer money between accounts, complete real-time transactions, login with secure passwords and use bankers automated clearing services (BACS)
What does stock control the user to do?
List of stock items on suppliers, know the minimum and maximum stock levels, work out how much to order and know date delivery times for stock to be ordered that is linked into a database
What do booking systems allow the user to do?
Check availability for the event time and date, specify the number of people, check the price of the booking and pay and then confirm by email
What do route finders allow the user to do?
Specify the start and end point, specify the transport vehicle, choose specified roads you want to travel or avoid and then save and print a route in either text or Maps
What do you customer records and accounts allow the user to do?
Store details of customers, have a unique identity for each customer, store orders and generate invoices and credit notes and print receipts and handle discounts and returns
What does online training systems allow the user to do?
Follow a path of learning set by responses to previous questions, learn at their own pace and return to topics and study at convenient times
Why does a wizard assist the user to do?
In the production of creating a final product
What is a stylesheet?
A predetermined layout
What is a macro?
A set of stored commands that can be replayed by clicking a combination of keys or a button
What is a template?
A standard preset layout and format
Give two advantages and disadvantages of using a wizard, style/template and a macro
Advantages of a wizard
Save time for inexperienced user, standard formats
Disadvantages
No individuality, difficult to tailor documents
Styles/template advantages
Consistent house style maintained, different people can work on different parts of the document
Disadvantages
Style needs to be developed by experienced user
Costs time and money
Advantages of macro
Inexperienced user can complete tasks with a pre-recorded macro, errors may be reduced
Disadvantages
Have to be an experienced user to pre-program the macro
User must remember the Key combinations to begin the macro
Name five considerations for designing a form
Visual and audible cues, intuitiveness, consistency, relevance and supportiveness
