How often should genitalia be examined?
Once per year in all teens
Annual screening for sexually active female?
- gonorrhea
- chlamydia
- RPR (syphillis)
- exam of external genitalia
- wet mount of vaginal fluids (trich, BV, yeast)
- *dont need to do bimanual exam unless sump of PID**
- Start Paps at 21y/o
Annual screening for sexually active male?
- urine based NAAT (gonnorrhea & chlamydia)
- serum HIV
- serum RPR
- consider rapid trich testing if penile discharge.
Screening for men who have sex with men?
- anal and phyarngeal cultures
- Hepatitis B serology
- HIV and syphillis (serum)
