Feelings of inferiority
Start life: (i.e., child dependent on parents)

- primary motivating force
Organ inferiority
For example, organ inferiority-everyone is born with some physical weakness
Striving for superiority
Alternatively:
superiority striving-striving to obtain power and superiority over one’s own inferiority
-can be a positive or negative
(+)postive: If the person: _Psych, growth without harming the interests of others
-works for the welfare of others
(-)negative: If the person: -focuses on personal gain
Life Goals
We invent these
- Protect us from feeling impotent in face go inferiority
- Focuses our achievement
Fictional goals
-These may or may not be healthy The psychologically unhealthy person: -disconnect between goals and reality The psychologically healthy person: -will change and adjust "When conditions warrant it" and this is grounded in reality.

“community sharing of feelings and values”
-plugged into the world (overall society)
-A sense of connectedness to the human community (broadcast sense)
Concern for self–> community, society
1) Occupational tasks
2) Societal tasks
Style of life (lifestyle)
1) ruling-dominant type (dominate to others)
2) Getting-leaning type (expects and receives from others)
3) avoiding types (avoids life’s problems)
4) Socially useful types (solves problems with social interests in mind)
Obstacles to growth
why are these problematic? 1) organ inferiority 2) pampered or spoiled 3) Neglect All distort their world views --> mistaken/faulty lifestyles
Self-guarding tactics
-keeps us from self-awareness
