His land of Ithaca was very far from Troy. He wanted to stay with his wife Penelope and newborn son.

He was the wisest man in Greece. He was a great speaker. He was burly and broad and had a deep voice.
How did Odysseus plan to avoid going to Troy?
He pretended to be mad. He planted salt in the sand at the beach and talked to himself. He slept in the fields.
How did Palamedes spoil Odysseus’ plan?
He threw Odysseus’ infant son in front of his plow. Odysseus immediately stopped plowing and knocked down Palamedes. This proved he was acting.
What was Palamedes final fate?
He was put to death by the Greeks for committing treason with the Trojans.
How was Odysseus blamed for Palamedes death?
It is believed he planted false evidence against Palamedes to have him accused of treason and get rid of Palamedes.
