When lords owe loyalty monarch

Lords castle, peasants huts, and villages or fields.
Serfs
A peasants who worked for a lord and couldn’t leave the manor without the lords permission.
Crusades
Religious wars between to nations over religious reasons.
Magnetic compass
A compass with a needle that was connected to the magnetic pull of the north so the needle always pointed north
Astrolabe
Made it possible for the sailors to tell the positions of stars. And to figure out latitude of the sea.
Renaissance
When the Europeans took interest in learning new things and learning about the world
Johannes Gutenberg
Invented the printing press
Prince Henry
Known as the navigator. Prince of Portugal. Led them to find a route towards the coast of west Africa
Caravel
New ships with triangular sails that made it possible to travel by boat in all directions.
Bartholomeu Dias
In 1488 he reached the southern tip of Africa
Vasco da gama
In 1498 sailed around South Africa and continued into India.
Christopher Columbus
Discovered America. But before he just was trying to reach the East Indies by sailing across the Atlantic
