Proclamation of 1763
Was set to protect Indian land. Drew an imaginary line that English couldn’t cross.
Pontiacs war
Pontiac led fights against British for taking land and captured many forts. But fighting ended soon because people drew away from helping Pontiac.
Stamp act
If you bought paper documents or cards they had to have a stamp that you paid for to be able to buy it.
Townshend act
Put low taxes on glass, paper, paint, led and tea.
Writs of assistance
Let officers inspect a ships cargo without a given reason.
Nonimportation agreements
Colonists agreed to stop buying products taxed by the Townshend act.
Sons of liberty
A group of angry colonists that threatened tax collectors
Daughters of liberty
Decided to make own clothes so they wouldn’t have to buy from British. Protested new taxes like the sons of liberty.
Samuel Adams
Was good at organizing people and rallying up people. Was a strong protester to the British taxes.
John Adams
A lawyer. His knowledge of British law earned him much respect.
Mercy Otis warren
Published plays that made fun of British officials. Was friends with Abigail Adams. They spurred up action.
Patrick Henry
A violent critic of the British. His speeches in the house of burgesses moved people to feel emotions.
Boston massacre
Where people stood outside a building and started throwing things at the building. The soldiers panicked and fired into the crowd. They killed 5 people.

Wrote about the things that were going on in the colonies that had to do with protest.
