sheriff jim clark would not let black vet and armed men and beat them when they tried. kings demonstration got 2,000 blacks arrested and some beten which made nation news.
what did king do to keep pressure on government and what happened?
they marched from seam alabama (part of selma march) and tried to get to the capitol but the sheriff ordered them to stop and beat many of them. the president saw this was mad and tried to propose new voting laws
What was the little rock school crisis?
9 black students told to go to high school but governor wouldn’t let them in.
what did the governor do to not let the kids into the school i little rock and what did the president do?
governor order troops to prevent them from entering so when the president told him to take troops away riots got rid of them. so president had to send troops down to lee them safe

day in the selma march when protestors knelt down to pray and officers came and beat them and left 70 blacks hospitalized and many more injured
