global climate change
A wide range of phenomena caused by global warming. These changes encompass not only rising temperatures, but also changes in precipitation patterns; ice mass loss on mountain glaciers around the world; shifts in the life cycles and migration patterns of flora and fauna; extreme weather events; and sea level rise.
Black Lives Matter
A decentralized and eventually global movement founded in 2013 that champions nonviolent civil disobedience in resistance to police brutality and violence against Black people.
LGBTQ
Acronym for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer.
pandemic
An outbreak of disease occurring worldwide or over a great area, spanning international boundaries and affecting a large number of people.
