Municipal Solid Watse (MSW)
The federal program with the responsibility of cleaning up sites that are an imminent danger of jeopardizing human health through water contamination.
Superfund
A highly flammable mixture of gas containing methan, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide, which is produced as a by product of anaerobic decomposition of waste material.
Biogas
The practice of designing, manufacturing, purchasing, or using materials in ways that reduce the amount of toxicity of the trash created.
Source Reduction
A process in which the original waste material is amde back into the same material
Primary Recycling
Waste materials are made into different products that may or may not be recyclable
Secondary Recyling
Its purpose is to sort a mixed stream of waste materials for eventual recycling
Material Recovery Facilities
A system that uses several approaches to deal with our nation’s solid waste problems
Integrated Waste Management (IWM)
A program for bringing about waste reduction.
Extended Product Responsibility (EPR)
An EPA-sponsored program that targets the reduction of municipal solid waste by a number of partnerships.

Any of a broad array of electronic devices that are discarded and often are hazardous to handle and difficult to recycle.
