-After Ayatollah Khomeini took over Iran in 1979, his followers took over the US Embassy in Iran and took 52 Americans hostage
-Carter was unable to free them, they were held hostage for 444 days and released a day after Carter left office
Describe the details of the court case U of Cal Regents V Bakke.
-Bakke got turned down for medical school twice at the University of Cal and sued the school for discrimination based on race
-Bakke was white and found out that the university set aside a certain number of spots for minority applicants
-The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Bakke and said that schools could not use fixed quotas
