Q

How do you find the resultant of two force vectors that act perpendicularly to each other?

A

To find the the resultant vectors, simply use triangle theorems to calculate the resolved component, (the hypotenuse).

Q

How do you resolve a vector into its two perpendicular components?

A

To find the perpendicular components of a vector, you resolve:
Fx = Fcosθ
Fy = Fsinθ

Multiple force vectors should be resolved using Pythagoras Theorem and Trigonometry.
