What is Psychosis?
Group of conditions that affect the mind, where there has been some loss of contact with reality.
What is Schizophrenia?
A type of psychosis disorder that has symptoms like delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, and bizarre behavior.
What are the negative effects of Schizophrenia?
- Lack of social interaction.
- Loss in motivation.
- Loss in pleasure.
- Inappropriate mood.
What are the causes of schizophrenia?
- Genetic.
- Dopamine disregulation.
- Cortical atrophy: enlargement of brain ventricles.
- Biological triggers (personality, external stressors, socio-economic status, social and family support)
