Retributive justice
A framework of justice where the offender is punished in equal to the crime that they committed to maintain order.
Restorivitve justice
A framework of justice where the focus is to minimize the harm of crime to the community.
Transformative justice
A framework of justice that focuses on the prevention of crime by solving other social factors to crime
How is crime measured?
Crime is measured from police statistics, crime reporting survey, self-reports and crime severity index. Not all crime is reported and is not counted
discretion
The ability for a person working in the legal system to make judgements using their own morals and perceptions.

Crime control
a model of the criminal justice system that focuses on making arrest and persecuting criminals
Due process
a model of the criminal justice system that focuses on protecting people’s rights.
