o A competition-focusing plan covers the period of time from the beginning to the end of the competition. For example in ice hockey, it would be the time from the point which the puck is dropped at the beginning of the first period through to the sound of the final buzzer at the end of the third period
What is the general goal of a competition-focusing plan?
o The general goal of a competition focusing plan is to ensure that, once a competition begins, the athlete will experience the covert and overt behaviours that characterize optimal performance
What 2 aspects of an athlete’s performance should a spot-competition evaluation assess?
o A post-competition evaluation should asses the athlete’s athletic performance and also their mental performance and readiness.
