A

different types

  1. image theatre- nonverbal, sculpt bodies into physical images
  2. invisible theatre- actors present prepared piece in public space, audience doesn’t know they are audience
  3. forum theatre- dramatic situation from everyday life, have to find solutions, audience members are encouraged to intervene and stop action/replace actors and enact their own ideas
  4. legislative theatre- determine need for and ability to create and enact laws
  5. rainbow of desire- uses some of image and forum to investigate issues, explores how external oppression can cause us to oppress ourselves, identifies greater social issues
  6. newspaper theatre- transforms daily news article into a scene, includes music/rhythm
