Impeachment
process of bringing charges against a government official for wrongdoing

presidential order to an executive agency establishing new policies or indicating how existing policy is to be carried out

international agreements made by president without need for Senate approval (allows quick and flexible diplomatic (mutual) actions)
Pardons
presidential power to forgive individuals of federal crimes and discharge them of legal consequences

presidential practice of withholding/ delaying spending of funds that have been appropriated by Congress
War Powers Act
Legislation that limits presidents powers (military force)
Legislative Vetoes
rejects actions of president/executive agency (vote of one or both houses of Congress without consent of president)
Bureaucracy
systematic way of organizing a complex and large administrative structure
Hatch Act
prohibits government employees from engaging in political activities while on duty or running for office
Cabinet
departments created to advise the president and help implement policy decisions
