Mount Vernon Conference
This second of two major meetings to precede the Constitutional Convention was held in 1786 and included delegates from only 5 of the then 13 states.
Annapolis Convention
Held at independence Hall in 1787 for the “sole and express” purpose of revising the Articles of Confederation, the delegates to this meeting wrote the Constitution.
Philadelphia Convention
