There are hidden/guarded switches in the galley and attendant areas, what happens when these are activated?
DEU B sends a signal to the active director
Active director then sends a signal to:
- cockpit aural and visual indications
- AIP (in area where activated)
- ACP (in area where activated)
What happens on operation of the cockpit alert switch?
Director activates the AIP and the ACP through DEU B and through DEU A initiates a special chime through the loudspeaker system which is created in the PISA
What does crew signalling allow the cabin staff to do?
Communicate the cabin’s ready status to the flight deck for take-off and landing
What does the sterile cockpit switch allow?
Prevents the aircrew from being disturbed and can only be reset by the cockpit switch
Where can an evacuation command be initiated from?
- FAP
- Mini FAP
- AAP
- Cockpit
What happens when an evacuation command has been initiated?
- An emergency tone is broadcast through the loudspeakers
- AIPs display ‘EVACUATION ALERT’ and their red light will flash
- On the ACPs, the pink LED will illuminate
- On the AAP, the EVAC RESET switch will flash
- Outputs to disable ‘door opening and slide armed’ alert
- Input to the IFE to inhibit audio and video
What happens when a PAX call is initiated?
- The director sends a signal via DEU A to activate the related overhead call light
- A high chime is announced
- ACP and AIP indicate origin of call
