An organisms body plan, or the way it’s parts are constructed or arranged
Structure
The basic unit of structure and function in living things
Cell
The job or process that an organisms structure or part of its structure carries out.
Function
The central core of an atom containing protons and usually neutrons;also, the control center of the cell that directs the cells’ activities and determines the cell’s process
Nucleus
A group of similar cells that perform a specific function in an organism
Tissue
Functions to make parts of the body move
Muscle tissue
Carries messages back and forth between the brain and every other part of the body.
Nerve tissue
A body tissue that provides support for the body and connects all of it’s parts
Connective tissue
A body tissue that covers the inner and outer surfaces of the body.
Epithelial tissue
A structure in the body that is composed of different kinds of tissue
Organ
A group of organs that work together to perform a major function in the body
Organ system
The process by which an organisms internal environment is kept stable in spite of changes in the external environment
Homeostasis
A change in an organisms surroundings that causes the organisms to react
Stimulus
An action or change in behavior that occurs as the result of a stimulus
Response
