Anorexia Nervosa
What are the two subtypes of Anorexia Nervosa?
-Restricting type
-Binge Eating/Purging type
Explain the two subtypes of Anorexia nervosa
Restricting type - In 3 months, not engaged with any purging behaviors, Only dieting, Excessive exercise, Fasting.
Binge eating/ Purging type - In 3 months, engaged with purging behavior such as, vomiting and laxatives
Explain Partial remission and Full remission of Anorexia nervosa
Partial Remission - Only criterion B or C (even both) are met and not Criterion A (low body weight)
Full remission - All criteria have not been met for a period of time
All of the criteria for anorexia nervosa are met, except that despite significant weight loss, the individual’s weight is within or above the normal range
Atypical Anorexia Nervosa
Recurrent episodes of binge eating and engaging in inappropriate behaviors to avoid gain weight (e.g, self-induced vomiting, Purging)
Bulimia Nervosa
Explain the Specific current severity of Bulimia Nervosa
Mild: 1-3 episodes of inappropriate behavior per week
Moderate: 4-7 episodes per week
Severe: 8-13 episodes per week
Extreme 14+ episodes per week
Eating a discrete amount of food compared to average human intake on a certain period of time (2hours)
