Anatomical Position is described as the body facing (1), feet placed (2) and (3) on the floor. The (4) is held erect and the (5) are straight by the side with the (6) facing forwards

Inferior
Below, towards the feet.
Medial
Being close to the midline, the center of the body
Lateral
To the side, farther away from the midline of the body.
Anterior/Ventral
To the front of the body
Posterior/Dorsal
To the back of the body.
Superficial
Near the surface.
Deep
Near the core of the body, farther from the surface.
Proximal
With regard to limbs, closer to the trunk of the body (farthest from digits).
Distal
With regard to limbs, closer towards the end of extremities (closest to digits).
