1 Bipedalism (6 mya; changes; heat conservation, see landscape, find food, carry infants, slow but good endurance in heat) 2 Loss of honing canine (5.5 mya; symbolizes diff interaction w env. other ways to threaten, eat and diff jaw shape) 3 TOOLS! (2.6 mya; dependance is what makes us human, useless claws and teeth) 4 Hunting (1 mya?; used to be scavengers, no big game hunting until later; meat = good for brain development) 5 Speech (2 mya?; hard to study if no writing, hyoid bone = shape of tongue = supports muscles = voice box + vocal chords) 6 Domestication of food supply (10,000 yrs ago; storing it, controlling it, Planting food = rise in sendentary-ness = rise in tech. and culture)
