What is the nucleus’s job?
Controls cell and has DNA
What is a hydrogen bond?
Weak bond of a positive hydrogen and a negative oxygen.
Nucleus of an atom.
Protons and neutrons.
What do ribosomes do?
Make protein.
What does mitochondria do?
Makes energy-ATP
What do Golgi bodies do?
Transports and packages in vesicles.
What do smooth ER do?
Produces and stores lipids.
What do lysosomes do?
Cleanup-stomach of a cell.
What is a cell membrane made up of?
Phospholipid bilayer. Hydrophilic and hydrophobic.
4 types of passive transport.
Diffusion- molecules from high to low
Osmosis-movement from water from low to high.
Facilitated diffusion
Filtration-filtering by blood pressure
What is hypertonic?
Will shrivel up and die. Goes from low to high. (Lazy to HYPER) (low to high)
What is hypotension?
Low blood pressure
What is hypertonic?
Fluid inside blood stream and tissue.
Two types of active transport.
Active transport-needs ATP and carrier protein
Cytosis- uses vesicles
