What is innovation?
The creative development of new products, new technologies, new services, or new organizational structures
What is a formal group?
- a group that managers establish to achieve organizational goals
What is an informal group?
- A group that managers or nonmanagerial employees form to help achieve their own goals or to meet their own needs
What is self-managed work team?
A group of employees who supervise their own activities and monitor the quality of the goods and services they provide
Why is it important for the manager to be clear?
- make sure to be very clear what the charge of the group is
- make the end very clear
- manager is the one hiring
What is conformity?
- conform to norms to obtain rewards, imitate respected members, and because they feel the behavior is right
What is group cohesiveness?
The degree to which members are attracted to their group
