Emic means to have an insider approach to the behavior of a culture, while Ethic means to have an outsider approach.

Naive realism
The belief that what we see is true. MEDIA.
Difference between science, scientific theory, and hypothesis.
Science is an approach to evidence, the use without naive realism or common sense. A scientific theory is an explanation that has been tested many times, and a hypothesis can be false or a prediction.
confirmation bias
to favor information that confirms or strengthens their beliefs or values and is difficult to dislodge once affirmed.
Belief perseverance
Belief perseverance is when the public sticks to initial beliefs after evidence, ignorance.
What is scientific skepticism?
When an open mind is and should have persuasive evidence before believing claims.
popular psychology vs. pseudoscience vs. Metaphysical claims
Popular psychology is self-help books, and info can be misleading, dangerous, and questionable. Pseudoscience is Info that seems scientific but doesn’t lack safeguards against confirmation. Metaphysical claims are unfalsifiable, facts that are not wrong but are untestable (god)
Why are people drawn to pseudoscience?
There is a desire to alleviate anxiety through the supernatural, plus many ideas and concepts remain unanswered due to this people can be drawn to pseudoscience.
