Severely inadequate nozzle flow with normal pressure readings and severely reduced or no flow reading s on flow meter indicates severe or multiple kinks

Two ways to deal with bursts length

If enough hose available remove burst length and reattach hose
Replace with another length of hose

Above situation only accomplished upon eng officers orders after the fire has been confined and or embers moved to safe refuge area

If short stretch and and adding to back of stretch water shut down is required

May be impractical if More than 4 lengths of hose are already deployed
If 6 lead lengths of 1 3/4 deployed only 2 1/2 can. E added

If 1 3/4 hoseline is being added to short without water shut off than

Then bring lead length to nozzle
Remove tip from original nozzle
Attach lead length to female butt of shut off

NOTE engine officer will ensure shut off does not get accidentally shut down

If adding to short stretch with 2 1/2 hose without shutting water you

Bring length of 2 1/2 to nozzle
Remove tip from nozzle
Connect 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 increaser to shut off

Will be slight reduction in water flow
Compensate by increasing pressure
Attach increaser slightly pull back shut off handle to allow lugs on fitting to clear handle

The 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 increased shall be carried
