The National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies were the Suffragists.
Who were the WSPU?
The Women’s Social and Political Union were the Suffragettes.
What did WW1 provide for women?
WW1 provided a first opportunity for women to take on traditional male jobs.
What did many women campaign for?
Women campaigned for the right to divorce a man, the right to be educated and the right to have a job.

The NUWSS was formed in 1897 and was led by Millicent Fawcett.
When was the WSPU formed?
The WSPU was formed in 1903 and led by Emmeline Pankhurst.
Give a few examples of the violence the WSPU committed?
They heckled politicians, held marches, chained themselves to railings, attacked policemen, broke windows, slashed paintings, set fire to buildings, threw bombs and went on hunger strike.
